SYNOPSIS

Sometimes, a chance meeting is just the push you need in order to break free from the darkness within…

My name is Emma, I’m 23, and I’ve never been kissed. I’m no virgin…But kissing is too intimate, too intense, and I don’t want that – not ever. I like sex, though, and most of my hook-ups don’t seem to mind the no-kissing part.

But then I meet Daniel, who’s such a geek, and definitely not the kind of guy I’d normally take an interest to. He’s the shy, quiet type, but with such a charming smile, and he makes my heart race – something I’ve never experienced before.

Daniel has his own issues to work through, and I know my hardened heart shouldn’t melt when he looks at me. I really shouldn’t be falling for him, either, but somehow, he manages to tear down my walls, and I’m scared…because once he learns my secrets, he’ll want nothing to do with me.

All I know is that Daniel makes me feel things that I have never felt before – but do I dare let down my walls and confide in him?

Will I let him be my first kiss?

This is my story, and I’ll reveal everything in my own sweet time…

Just don’t expect all the hearts-and-flowers stuff.

Life is messy, and mine is no different…

MY REVIEW

Make Me Believe is the perfect combination of heartwarming and heartache. Karen Ferry has written her debut novel with characters that readers will relate to and fall madly and deeply in love with. Inspired by true events, readers can’t help but try to guess which parts of her life Karen has revealed.

Introducing us to Emma, Karen Ferry brings to live this gorgeous quirky human being with an old soul, who is desperately trying to repair her broken spirit. Moving to a different country, Emma seeks a fresh start; a new beginning.

Her life, her rules!

Then she meets Dan – gorgeous, nerdy and equally quirky.

In a coincidental meeting their lives are entwined and before they know it, they are both living and breathing all the mixed emotions that surround their time together. With secrets that infiltrate every waking second of their lives both Dan and Emma avoid being honest with one another and that includes admitting to their growing feelings and the undeniable chemistry between them.

Make Me Believe exposes so many vulnerabilities and so much pain for both Emma and Dan but as they finally succumb to their desires, readers will hope that Emma and Dan can find their way out of the darkness and bring each other into the light.

Karen Ferry’s debut novel has touched on topics that are often put in the too hard basket. Delicately writing about pain and heartache, Ferry ensures she uses her supporting characters to show the importance of support and loyalty. Make Me Believe shows off Ferry’s writing skills, her empathy and above all, all the possibilities for her and her characters.

SYNOPSIS

My name is Suzy, and I’m just a girl—a girl who believes in fairytales, unicorns, and the notion that wishing upon a shooting star really can make all my dreams come true. Or, at least, I think I’m that girl. Lately, the world’s perception of me has left me questioning everything.

Love is love, or so I believed…

Then he barged into my life.

My name is Garrett, and I’m just a guy—a guy trying to survive in the world I’ve been cursed to roam. I do not cling to the idea of happily-ever-after, the scars of my past proof positive that I do not deserve such luxuries.

Love is lost, or so I thought…

Until she lit up my life.

MY REVIEW

Fool For Love is Karen Ferry’s second novel a standalone about Suzy Christensen, who readers were blessed to meet in her debut novel and book one of the Believe Series, Make Me Believe. Moving from Denmark to New York City, Fool For Love follows Suzy’s move to the Big Apple to start fresh and find herself. Exploring her sexuality and her need to find love, Suzy’s story remind readers that Love is Love.

Told in dual perspectives readers meet Garrett and Suzy. Opposites with a fourteen-year age gap, a mix up of circumstances brings them together. With sexual tension filling up the air around them, these two broken souls gravitate towards each other; both wanting and needing. As they try to deny the connection they share, secrets are told and feelings explored reminding them both that meeting might be the best thing that’s sever happened to either of them.

Remaining true to her writing style, Karen Ferry brings to life a heartwarming and memorable love story. With topics that are different to her debut novel Ferry shows readers how vast and varied her creative mind is. Exploring topics of sensitivity Karen Ferry’s characters are known for their need of individual soul searching. Delving into grief, loss and heartache, Suzy and Garrett are perfect in their representation of reality. Connecting well with readers their quest for happiness is one so often endured by others.

As the book goes through the highs and lows of real life, the back drop, the plot, subplot and secondary characters all highlight Karen Ferry’s development as an author and a firm believer in the power of love. Like Make Me Believe, Fool For Love is inspirational and moving. With stories that have the power to induce empathy I excitedly look forward to meeting more of Ferry’s characters and immersing myself in the rest of the Believe Series.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Karen Ferry is a thirty-something writer, wife to a quiet, laidback man, and mother to a gorgeous, stubborn, redheaded girl who keeps her parents on their toes.

Karen tends to have a short fuse if she does not get a proper caffeine fix first thing in the mornings, but she is, in fact, a gentle person deep down.

Karen loves Italian food and wine, traveling, and spending time with her family. When she is not writing, she reads – her favorite genres are New Adult, Contemporary Romance, Erotica and Romantic Suspense. She can never get enough of romance. Or of too many book boyfriends, either.

Even though Karen is Danish, she has always felt more at ease writing stories in English, and she has not read a book in her native tongue in over ten years.

She can be very outspoken and a complete fan girl of other authors online but will, in fact, be very shy once she meets you in person.
