One moment of recklessness will change their worlds
Smart. Responsible. That’s seventeen-year-old Breanna’s role in her large family, and heaven forbid she put a toe out of line. Until one night of shockingly un-Breanna-like behavior puts her into a vicious cyberbully’s line of fire—and brings fellow senior Thomas “Razor” Turner into her life.
Razor lives for the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, and good girls like Breanna just don’t belong. But when he learns she’s being blackmailed over a compromising picture of the two of them—a picture that turns one unexpected and beautiful moment into ugliness—he knows it’s time to step outside the rules.
And so they make a pact: he’ll help her track down her blackmailer, and in return she’ll help him seek answers to the mystery that’s haunted him—one that not even his club brothers have been willing to discuss. But the more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. And suddenly they’re both walking the edge of discovering who they really are, what they want, and where they’re going from here.

When I finished Nowhere but Here all I could think about was Razor. Desperate to know more about the mysterious and broken young man, his presence in Nowhere but Here was limited but extremely intriguing. Familiar with Katie McGarry’s books, and impressed by Nowhere but Here my expectations for Walk the Edge were high. Hours pass and one sleepless night later, it is safe to say expectations were met and every second of my excitement and anticipation was warranted. Even with the option to be read as a standalone, I recommend reading book one in the Thunder Road Series first. Building on themes that are prevalent and important in Nowhere but Here, Walk the Edge delves deeper into the darker and more complex side of family, loyalty and love.
Thomas “Razor” Turner lives and breathes the Terror of Reign Motorcycle Club (MC). No longer a Prospect but still in High School, Katie McGarry sets up the perfect contradiction to explore the multilayered mind of a young man and the broken heart of an eight year old boy. Razor walks around with his Cut on his back and his head held high, letting his outward appearance hide the all-encompassing demons and insecurities screaming inside. Feeling isolated and alone Razor
Breanna Miller is ready for her senior year to start, known as the weird “brain child” by family, friends and classmates, Breanna is determined to break out from the chains of this close-minded town. But when her chance to leave isn’t an option Breanna knows she needs to try another way to fit in this school year. Overwhelmed by her loneliness and her inability to fit in, Breanna craves either anonymity or acceptance. It’s a double edged sword that becomes trickier to navigate, at every turn.
Attending the same school Razor and Breanna know of each other but as the words exchanged become more frequent and the side glances become lingering looks, the air around them shifts. Their worlds collide, their differences are highlighted and their similarities are binding. Together Razor and Breanna are fighting battles set to change both their futures. The question is, is their future together?
Written with a realism that only McGarry can achieve, Walk the Edge explores the often life changing experiences of young adulthood. Bordering the New Adult line McGarry takes notice of those who don’t fit in the box; the unique and the more often than not, burdened teenagers that are dealing with adult-like problems. Written in dual perspectives, McGarry flawlessly invites readers to wholeheartedly FEEL the emotions attached to these characters. Through Razor and Breanna, Katie McGarry brings to life the pain, fear and the beauty of falling in love. Surrounded by expectation and secrets, Walk the Edge is a journey of truth, redemption, acceptance and happiness. Razor and Breanna’s story will hurt, but know McGarry gives you everything you need to heal.
