SBPT15 MEME

The Summer Blogger Promo Tour is a concept created by the gorgeous Amber and Jessica of The Book Bratz, in order to get book bloggers from near and far to interact with one another.  Through a series of weekly spotlight posts, The Book Bratz put bloggers into groups and then created a rotating schedule that would highlight bloggers, blogs and everything bookish.

Between July 5th and August 31st Beaute’ De Livres – Beauty of Books will host blog posts showcasing 8 different blogs. So, stay tuned for a variety of posts filled with lots of books, books and more books!

About Confessions of Carlisa

Carlisa’s blog is Confessions of Carlisa! She is a 20-year-old student studying the thing she loves most: words. Aka English. For as long as Carlisa can remember, she has always had her nose in a book and she uses her blog as a place to freak out or rant about or fangirl over bookish things with people who feel the same way about books. And that’s wonderful. Carlisa is a Parks and Rec enthusiast, a lover of the written word, and an unashamed nerd. So, basically she is AWESOME!

Below is a few questions I asked Carlisa to help get to know her and her bookish/blogish ways in detail.
  1. Introduce yourself and your blog.
My name is Carlisa and I blog over at Confessions of Carlisa!
  2. When and why did you start blogging?
I’ve had a blog since like seventh grade but back then it was just basically a sporadic journal of my life. Like if anything exciting ever happened, I would go write about it on my blog and perhaps my mom and other random person would read it and that was it. This continued until just this past January. I had reviewed two books just randomly before but in January I happened upon a book blog from a Goodreads account I followed…And I never even realized that something like book blogging really existed. And I knew then that I wanted to do it. So I started. And here we are today.
  3. What’s your favorite part of book blogging?
I just love being able to talk and interact with so many people that share the same passion for books and words that I do. It’s really a cool thing to be able to write and gush (or rant for certain books…) about some books and have people comment, saying, “I totally agree with you!” or “I don’t really agree with you but here’s why…” or even, “I’m going to read this book because of you!”
  4. What’s your least favorite thing about book blogging?
I’m the queen of procrastination. I have a blog planner and I plan posts weeks in advance…but then I usually end up writing them just the night before. I wish I could sit down and whip out four or five posts at once when I actually have the time. It would make my life and book blog a lot easier.
  5. If you could only recommend three books for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Oh my gosh, so hard. This answer would probably change on the daily…but…The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (the last one’s my favorite but this is where it all started, you know?)
  6. Tell us something un-bookish about yourself.
I play piano and I loooove it.
  7. E-reader or physical books? Why?
It depends. 80% of the time I’d say physical. I just love to hold a book in my hands and be able to see the progress I’m making through it. But e-readers are super convenient and I use them a lot for review copies.
  8. What’s your favorite post that you’ve written?
That’s a hard one. I really like writing Discussion posts (although I probably don’t write nearly enough of them). I wrote one on the Dystopian trend a little bit ago that I had fun researching and thinking about and I got a good response from it!
  9. What are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading The Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray–the sequel to The Diviners. It’s being published later this month so I’m trying to get through it but it’s a monster at 625 pages!
  10. Anything else you want to tell us?
Thanks so much for having me, Vivian!
