The Summer Blogger Promo Tour is a concept created by the gorgeous Amber and Jessica of The Book Bratz, in order to get book bloggers from near and far to interact with one another.  Through a series of weekly spotlight posts, The Book Bratz put bloggers into groups and then created a rotating schedule that would highlight bloggers, blogs and everything bookish.

Between July 5th and August 31st Beaute’ De Livres – Beauty of Books will host blog posts showcasing 8 different blogs. So, stay tuned for a variety of posts filled with lots of books, books and more books!

Today’s feature is Always Opinionated Girl picking her favourite fictional charachters and slotting them in as members of her fictional family. Always Opinionated Girl wants readers to ensure that she does really love her real life family but if she could…

 Mum: Molly Weasley

When I even begin to think about awesome fictional mothers, Molly is the first one that pops to mind. She is not only kind, loving and supportive of her own children, but of Harry, providing him with his first homemade Christmas gift after only having met him once at the station. Despite being so loving, Molly doesn’t take any nonsense and will defend the ones she loves to the death, making her the perfect mum.

Dad: Arthur Weasley

How could we have Molly Weasley without Arthur Weasley? These two compliment each other beautifully, even though at times they seem like complete opposites. Arthur’s love for his family manifests itself in a way different to Molly’s, but that doesn’t make it any less valid. Other than that, I feel like it would be great fun to have Arthur as a dad. He’s always so curious and up for a laugh.

Brother: Percy

I have had a soft spot for Percy Jackson in my heart ever since we first met him aged 12. At times he is lost and foolish, but he always manages to find the right way. He has a great sense of humour and I imagine he has some really interesting stories to tell, but at the same time, he can be serious and is fiercely loyal. I wouldn’t want to mess with his friends.

Sister: Bianca

Bianca from The DUFF messes up time and time again, so I think as an older sister, she’d be able to give so much brilliant advice and would teach you to love yourself as you are. Despite the fact she can sometimes be blinded be her own problems, at the end of the day, Bianca is there for those who need her. Bianca is also super sassy and sarcastic, like me so I think we’d get along like a house on fire.

Grandma: McGonagall

I think we all agree that McGonagall would make the most awesome Grandma ever. No explanation needed. But if I was forced to explain why, I would draw people’s attention to a few particular scenes
1.   The time when she offers Harry a biscuit after he insults Umbridge.
2. The time when she fights Snape.
3. The time when she teaches Ron to dance.
4. All the times she good naturedly tells off Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred and George.

Aunt: Effie

Even though Effie often misses the mark, her heart is always in the right place and she grows so much as a person throughout the novels. She simply wants to look after the people she cares about, and generously showers them in compliments and advice. Also on a purely superficial level, it would be great fun to do makeovers with her.

Uncle: Haymitch

It’s obvious that Haymitch isn’t perfect and some people may wonder why any one would want him as an uncle, but personally I really like Haymitch, especially when he’s with Katniss, Peeta or Effie. They bring out the good in him and he genuinely cares about them and wants to protect them.

Cousin: Magnus

Magnus would be be such fun to have as a cousin. He’d always have a funny story to tell and hopefully he’d be able to give me some fashion tips and show me some cool magic. He is such fun, yet is capable of kicking butt when needed. He’s not High Warlock of Brooklyn for no reason.

Cousin: Cath

Despite being the complete opposite of Magnus, I think Cath would be an equally great cousin. I can relate to her so much and hopefully she’d lend me the Simon Snow series and give me some writing tips. Maybe I could read her fan-fiction as she read my book blog. We’d be united in our love of books.

One this is a cool idea. Wish I knew about it. Two this was a great post. Never thought about who I would want as a fictional family. So going to think about that. Cath would def be a part of my fam. How could she not?

Awesome you’re supporting the book blogging community.

    Lovely post! 😃

  2. Veronika Éles (@VVeronika96) says:

I love love love this post! Arthur and Molly Weasley would definitely make amazing parents, I just loved the atmosphere of the Weasley family. Percy as a brother would be awesome as well. I imagine he’d be so much fun to have around but at the same time, like you said, he’s very loyal and really loves his friends. Effie and Haymitch are the kind of aunt and uncle I want! I just love both of them, even though they are nowhere near perfect they’d do anything for the people they love. Who could be a cooler cousin than Magnus? I’d so go shopping with Magnus.
    Lovely post! 🙂
